RE: [MW:10110] SA264- Heat treatment of Cr-Ni Steel clad plate

It is not clear to me, when i specify 5.2.3. what additional HT we get?
if you could may give a specific case pl.

As per Cl No.5.2.1, for all *AUSTENITIC Stainless Steel *composite plates
(i.e., clad plate + base plate) heat treatment is mandatory to dissolve the
carbides in the cladding.

As per Cl No 5.2.3, heat treatment is optional.
If required composite plates may be heat treated depending on the *Clad
material*, variation in grain sizes/ mechanical/ corrosion properties,
service requirements/ application.
Also as Mr Subramaniam said, plates may be separately heat treated prior to
explosive bonding.
