Re: [MW:6764] tollerance for ovality by shell welding.

If you refer ASME Sec VIII Div.1 2007 edition, UG-80 which gives the permissible out of roundness for shells.

Ovality = ID (max) - ID (min)at any cross section shall not exceed 1% of the Nominal diameter at the cross section under consideration.
The dia. may be measured on the inside or outside of the vessel.
It is good to control ovality within 0.5%.
