RE: [MW:3940] Metal Composition

Hello, thank you for ur response.

I have done metal analysis of this, and i got the result as EN3 grade. It is a very old bearing housing, and has been worn out. We need to do few microns overlay, so we require grade of electrode to be used.

Hi Mr. Mehta,

Would you please be able to specify the intended use of this steel, e.g
Structural, boiler pressure vessels, offshore piping, or tubular,,,, etc.
The easiest way would be to get the steel analyzed with an Alloy analyzer
(e.g Niton or Others). All alloy analyzers have an in built database of the
nearest matching compositions and the grade of steel, which are built in to
their database.

Once you know the nearest grade , that would be the place to start for
further information e.g Specifications, mechanical properties... etc.

Thanks .
