1. get a talent welder
2. be sure that your joint design is suitable
3. electrode selected right way
4. handling and storage of the electrode are properly done
5. base metal precleaned
6. interpass temperature is maintained
7. preheating of the electrode if it is required is done
8. humidity level is suitable
9. preheating if required
10. interpass cleaning done properly
11. inspection is done before, during and after every step
12. heat treatment after joint completion if required
13. visual and non destructive testing are selected and done properly
14. etc.
note: after you do all these precautions i can not assure you that
your joint will be free of defect but at least it will give you high
propability of getting your joint free of defect
