As per Para 345.2.3 (c) of ASME B31.3 (2006 edn.), you can either do
100% RT or 100% UT. If Project Specification asks for, you may have to
do PT or MT after root pass as per Para 344.7, if nothing mentioned in
Project Specifications, you can go ahead only for 100% RT and you are
right that no additional requirement is there in B31.3.
