Dear All,
Hot Bends can be cut by cold cutting or gas cutting as normal piping in carbon steel, but you need to be more worried on dimensional problems as the ovality issue will come into picture thereby you may land into bad fit up problems and also some time pigging issues as standard allows the more tolerances on body and tighter tolerances on both ends and reduced wall thickness on body of a bend.

If any impact testing requirements are involved weld procedure may be qualified accordingly to ensure the properties.

Pl check the ovallity, thickness and lamination by UT, MPI of new beveled edges and also gauging prior to any fit up.

Refer Bend standards ASME B 16.49 and TPA -IBS -98

Cold cutting is always preferable than hot or gas cutting, as cold
cutting will not alter metallurgical properties.
One of other things to be considered is profile to suit the ID/OD of the
joining pipe/fitting.

Is there any technical adversity in Cold cutting a Hot induction Bend
( Hot formed at around 860 Deg C and then Stress relieved) to suite to
site condition ? I think Hot work-oxy aceteline cutting etc- is not
acceptable...

But Can the Hot Induction Bend be undergone cold cutting...
other than Metallurgical consequence any thing else to be considered
while cold cutting ?
