Re: [MW:34171] QW-200.4 Combination of Welding Procedures.

You have to qualify new PQR as group number is essential (in case of impact testing applications) in your project.I hope consumables are different for P1G3 than P1 G1 as base material strength is on the higher side. if strengths are different check tensile values in PQR both the PQR'S then decide whether these PQR can be combined or not even for non- impact applications.

Is impact testing is required in production welds?
If not , then Group number is NOT A ESSENTIAL VARIABLE .

Prepare WPS based on available qualified  PQR and use in production welding after review of Weld Plan/Weld Map from AI/TPI as required

Dear Professionals,

Please describe & explain to me the combination of welding procedures.
As per my project specification group number is essential. I has been separate PQR's P1G1-P1G1 & P1G3-P1G3, now I have to do combination welding P1G1-P1G3. Should I create a new PQR in this case? Or can I combine this PQR P1G1-P1G1 & P1G3-P1G3 (as per QW-200.4 combination of welding procedures)?
Please advise me.
