[MW:28913] Re: Acceptance criteria for tensile test for WPS qualification

Dear Megnath,
I assume this is for cross-weld tensile test of girth welds (circumferential welds for pipelines) as a part of Welding procedure Qualification Testing (WPQT). A failure in weld is not acceptance per DNV-OS-F101:2013 Appendix B. You may need to do additional Transverse all weld tensile tests to demonstrate filler material tensile properties.

Dear Experts,

Kindly share, if there is any code case interpretations or similar explanation in any of the international codes for the following issue.

Acceptance criteria for tensile test for WPS qualification.

If the specimen fails at weld metal (for ex. Exactly at weld centre) with higher tensile strength than base metal, what is the interpretation?

Thanks & Regards,
