Re: [MW:28936] SAES- W -011, B31.3 and IX ( Impact test requirement ) for SS

That criteria applies only when you have impact test requirements as per designers choice of your service operating conditions, in that case yes you have to limit heat input values as what has been recorded in PQR as same as WPS which shall be verified in production and for combination more than 12 mm with different process applies next clause.

Note: this requirement applies only when impact test required or for sour service requirements mandated as per SAES-W-011.

I have revived comments from CSD my WPS.

I have mentioned with Impact requirement in WPS, as per PQR.

Please refer the below details WPS and PQR DATA.

Base metal Thickness Range : Groove: 2.99mm to 11.96

Thickness : 5.98mm    
Filler Metals: ER316L    
Pre heat Temp : 21°C Min    
Inter pass Temp : 126°C Max    




Query : As per SAES -W-011 clause no -7.4.13.2 not required Impact test and i have to change Base metal thickens 1.5mm to 11.96mm.
