PT is required for below reasons.
1. Since this is a Repair weld, to ensure complete removal of Defect, MT is recommended and since this is Tube PT is the possibility.
2. Moreover the Weld Bevel shall be free of lamination and other defects which may extend and open up during welding.
3. It is a good Engineering practice to MT/PT weld bevels.
