Hi Prabhu,
Prior to think for WPS – some more points here for recheck…
1. As per which code your work is in progress?
2. What is the design criteria for the work, and which code is governing the design, and construction?
3. Which code is demanding for a WPS, for a partial penetration joint?
4. As per which code your Existing WPS have?
After that you can take a call on the WPS… considering the variables with respect to the reference code.
Thanks & Regards,

Subject: [MW:25190] Use of Full penetration WPS for Partial penetration
Dear All,
I have a requirement of partial penetration for single bevel weld joint. Required weld deposit thickness is 10mm & base metal thickness is 40mm. & material is INC625 to CS.
I have Qualified WPS for dissimilar thickness which is qualified for 11 mm weld deposit thickness & 70 mm base metal thickness.
My Question is Can I use full penetration WPS for partial penetration joint.
