RE: [MW:25307] Difference between Cr content range in casting and forge SS316

Castings are manufactured by “Melting & pouring “Technique. Alloy losses are more in during casting; hence the compositional range is wider.

Materials chosen for forging already will have some preset compositions, not the same as casting where the composition is to be finalized, when the liquid metal is to be poured. Hence the range could be narrower.
