Mervin
You can match Sch-80 pipe with Sch-160 pipe according to ASME B16.25 and ASME B16.3. This last code permits a ratio about 3.5 between larger diameter / lower diameter. ASME B16.25 gives you dimension of taper to match both thickers.

Can you help me on this. My queation it is permitted to taper the flange to match the inside thickness on the pipe this pipe is sch-80. Around 3mm thicker the flange..
