There is no provision for the thickness range qualification for 2T with the heat treatment above
the upper transformation range. You have to use only 1.1 times of T or t.

Subject: [MW:13230] regarding thickness qualification as per ASME sec-IX
Dear Experts,
Is there any provision for thickness qualification as per sec-IX while
doing heat treatment in upper Transformation range?
As per clause no-407.4 in Sec-IX, it indicates that if ur test piece
receives heat treatment in upper transformation range then the thk
qualificatin reduces to 1.1 times of thk instead of 2T.
I want to know that i want qualification of 2T instead of 1.1T while
doing HT in upper transformation range.
Kindly give ur opinion for that
Is there any provision for thk qualification for this, so i can get 2T
Qualification while doing HT in upper transformation range.
Regards,
Ankit Khatri
