Re: [MW:12041] Single bevel PQR can we use as backweld

Hi Bharat, why you not looking for an other PQR with a combination process, let say GTAW+SMAW? you may develop a single process WPS that is supported by a combination process on PQR.

look at please interpretation IX-95-10.
Question: May a single process WPS be qualified by a combination process PQR where no essential variable for the process are changed?
reply: yes.

You may develop single process WPS with a combination process PQR as long as "t" (deposited weld) is meeting to the requirement of 451 and essential variable for that process are not changed.

Dear Bharat,

The F.No for E7018  is 4

The F.No for E6010 is 3

Hence Change in F Number is Essential Variable. For change in Essential Variable Requalification of PQR is Required. you cant make WPS for E7018 only.

Hope the answer to your question .
