Use Double operator GTAW  ie two welders welding from either side simultaneously in 3G, pulling same weld puddle with Square butt joint,  5 mm gap.
Welders to practice first in 1 M long test plate. Use 2 or -2.4dia filler. 80/120 amps. 
Provide stiffnars to act gap closing . 1stStriking arc welder to add filler in joint gap second welder to operate at lower current level and add filler as and when required moving arc behind 3-4 mm from first welder. His arc also provide argon  shielding to weld

S355 J2 WP  is a weathering structural steel  It has better atmospheric corrosion resistance. Use E 8018 - W1/W2  Electrodes This is regular...
