In all the years that I have of experience (and I have been in ASME Audits) I have never seen that ASME Y14.5 is used for the engineering of Pressure Vessels, I suggest you see a tutorial on the internet, help you a friend who has more experience on the subject and in short: you have to be familiar with ASME BPVC Section VIII Div. 1, otherwise it will be very difficult for you to understand Pressure Vessels and their engineering.
