Hi Dharma,
Problem experienced is typical to narrow V-groove SAW process. You haven't indicated base material in your mail. .
For SS/DSS base material ,SAW slag removal after root run is extremely difficult even with C-Steel.
Following are suggestions for improvement:
1) Joint design may be changed to U- groove with radius -use 6mm radius ball end mill.
2) Re-dry flux 250 deg F/2-3hrs on drying tray spead evenly even for new bag.
3) Root run by other process ( e.g GTAW) as suggested.
