[MW:26521] Stress relief requirement for Shell plate welds for API 650 tank

Dear All,

Referring to API 650, Section 5.7.3.1, is it correct to conclude that no stress relief is required for shell plate to shell plate weld joints (having shell thickness 36 mm, material SA 537 Cl II), if following conditions are met:

1. Minimum spacing requirements mentioned in section 5.7.3.1 (a) are met- We are maintaining minimum 300 mm distance for dimensions mentioned as A and B in figure 5.6.

2. Minimum spacing requirements mentioned in section 5.7.3.1 (b) are met- We are maintaining minimum 300 mm distance for dimensions mentioned as E in figure 5.6.

This tank is a existing tank, we are adding few nozzles for mixers and for process inlet.

Appreciate your response on the subject.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Rajnish
