Dear sir,
We have the process piping, according to B31.3
According to table 341.3.2, under M category fluid, acceptance for the length of incomplete penetration is given as should be less than or equal to 38mm in any 150mm weld length.
My query is that, M category fluid comes under toxic means product service which makes harms to human being.
Under such category, how asme code says that such long incomplete penetration is allow.
Contractor is taking the full advantage of it. We are very serious as per our product is concerned.
Where as, ASME sec viii div I, completely reject the crack, incomplete Penetration and incomplete fusion.
My point is that, B 31.3 could been also be strict for LP, LF and crack specially for toxic service pipe lines/ process lines.
Regards
Prasad
