[MW:24704] Re: Impact Testing

Pl. elaborate @ - 48 Deg C

Why you want to use GR 11 for this temperature . ?
What are  impact energy values required ?
What is the thickness of pipie ?
PL note it is very difficult to get the energy values especially HAZ and WELD

Dear All
Need your expert opinion on below query.

We are working on new project with Pressure Parts proposed to customer in ASME A335 P11 materials.

Since the ambient temperature is -48C, we need to perform the Impact Test for the same.

We think that the pipe material can be impact tested. Since this test is not a standard requirement for SA335 P11 pipes no guarantee is provided on the resulting minimum impact energy.

Any suggestions ????

Warm Regards
