Dear Moh.d
You may refer following interpretation:
Ref: ASME SEC-V / Article 2: I-279 repaired area and SE- 1255: A 1.5.17
When RT of repaired area is required, the length of the film used
SHALL be at least equal to the length of original location.
Radiographic re-examination of repair: when repair is performed, it
SHALL be re-examined using same RT technique. Each repair shall be
identified and recorded with R1, R-2, details as required
Of course weld repair shall be repaired by another but qualified
welder for same joint as per WPS and shall followed by RT as mentioned
above.
In some organisations, rejected joint may not be repaired due to
criticality of remote & unmanned / unattended facilities. The option
is both sides of weld joint to be cut and welded. It is specified &
depends upon contractual agreement by owner, if specifically allowed.
Regards
Chandrakant Mohikar (Ex. PDO rtd Co. Site Representative)
