Hi

However there is no change in criterias related to the filler metals variables, but hot wire GTAW has huge influence on heat input and deposition rate.

If heat input increases so the qualification is a need, when impact testing specified (supplementary variable).

See QW-409.1 for more detailes.

I have got a PQR qualified for orbital TIG welding (automatic) with cold wire. Does it qualify for orbital TIG welding with hot wire, all other thinks remaining unchanged ? In my opinion yes, but I am not sure. Applicable construction code is ASME. Welding qualifications are per Section IX.
