In my Yard Piping WPS/PQRs and Welders Qualification comply with ASME IX only.
ASME IX specifically developed as Qualification Standard for Welding,Brazing, and Fusing Procedures;Welders; Brazers; and Welding,Brazing, and Fusing Operators
ASME B31.3- ASME Code for Process Piping.- (Design/Construction Code)
As For Welder/Operator/Brazer Qualification& Piping WPS/PQR Qualifications- what is mandatory code- ASME IX or Design/Construction Code ASME B31.3?
For example High Pressure Piping ASME B31.3 Chapter IX shall be complied for WPS/PQRs and Welder Qualifications.
Yes, PWHT requirements one need to comply with ASME B31.3-Table 331.1.1
Does that mean ASME IX requirements superseded by ASME B31.3 Chapter IX?
Where and when one shall comply with ASME B31.3 instead of ASME IX.?
