Subject: Hydrotest for buried line
To: materials-welding <materials-welding@googlegroups.com>
Dear members,
We have lines of 32", 30" ,24" & 18" etc. for product lines(around 2
km long).construction codes are ASME B31.3 & 4. in between there is
underground portion forabout50mtrs.now the sub-contractor wants to
bury this joints prior to hydrotest (by fulfilling 100% RT). then at
the time of hydro pressure gauges will be monitored. but as per 31.3,
all joints shall be exposed at the hydrotest (345.3.1) & this is
un-acceptable for us as well. kindly share your views citing various
aspects of this situation.
Thanks in advance,
Kumar
