Min. preheat Temp. is required to slow down the cooling rate & provide resistant to cracking .(Preheat shall be given if thickness > 25 mm for carbon steel)
HAZ Yield & UTS = f (Inter pass Temp.)
Higher value of inter pass temp. tend to reduce weld metal strength & provide fine grain structure & improve Charpy V-notch toughness .
But If Max. Inter pass temp. increases beyond 260 deg Celsius tend reversed.
Min. Preheat Temp. < Max. Inter-pass Temp. < 260 Deg Celsius
