[MW:17966] Welder qualification

Sirs,

I have the following doubts, please clarify.

1.  A welder is qualified for P-1 with GTAW (11.08mm) & SMAW (14 mm). This welder is also qualified for P5A with GTAW (8mm) & SMAW (Unlimited). Can he weld P1 pipe of thickness 28.58 with GTAW (8 mm) & SMAW (20.58 mm).

2. A welder qualified in SS with GTAW cannot weld CS with GTAW as purging gas is not used in CS. Removal of backing is an essential variable for welder qualification. Please correct me If my interpretation is wrong.
