DEAR EXPERTS,
When we are using two process (GTAW+SMAW) you told that the temperature is 95 degree after hotpass.
IN ASME THEY HAVE GIVEN THAT 55 DEGREE TOLLERANCE FROM THE TEMPERATURE YOU GOT.
SO (95-55=40 DEGREE) IS TAKEN AS A PREHEAT TEMPERATURE FOR SMAW PROCESS.

Yes you can consider it is as preheat and check with your WPS for preheat
requirements. For example if the preheat is 120 degree then increase
temperature to 120 deg and start weld.

Dear Experts,
When we are using two process (GTAW + SMAW) on pipe test coupon of a PQR,Root
SMAW process,
Prior to start of SMAW process, temperature of coupon noted was 95 deg C
My question is whether this 95deg C will be considered as preheating
temperature for SMAW process
Kindly advise in the light ASME Codes
Thanksin advance
