RE: [MW:5686] stroge tank API 650

Dear All,
 
I have faced a similar issue in little SS Tanks, we used to put out the heat by cooper bars and compensating the distortion trouhgh welding simetricly.

Dear  Ramesh,
 
We have been faced same problem in our previous project.I agreed with you that API 650 does not stated clearly about bottom plates distortion.
 
In best my knowledge we need to minimize the distortion as much as we can during welding.I strongly recommended you to use low heat input and use good condition automatic welding machine.

yes,by using ER 90S-B9(GTAW)&E9018-B9 (SMAW) or E 9015-B9
the joint should be heat treated acc .to ASME B31.3
