The more energy we supply more metal will be melted, hence more volume. Pl refer the attachment for details

i think ,these parameters may affect on total weld volume& total heat input.therefore affect on impact property.
i read in a book published by HARTFORD, that says heat input can be calculated based on weld volume( that's reasonable) other than formule in QW409.1.
DO YOU HAVE FORMULE FOR CALCULATING OF H.I BASED ON WELD VOLUME?
