RE: [MW:5594] NONESSENTIAL OR SUPPLEMETARY

In general The WPS shall state Non essential variables too, however requalification is not required {refer QW200.1(b): contents of WPS, it shall state all types of variables, not only essential, many assume that only essential variable are required to be stated on WPS, it is not correct}
For e.g. the variables stated below are required to be stated on WPS (current/polarity, multi/single pass etc.) in all cases and this range can be modified depending on your weld geometry, position etc. and no requalification is required, when impact test are not required.
However same will become essential, when impact test are required and requalification is necessary, when there is a change on WPS for these variables..

For e.g. Change in Current/polarity (QW 409.4), if not listed under non essential, and not specified on WPS, how the welder/operator will know?

I hope, have clarified your point!

yes , it is true.
but my intention is QW409.4 OR QW410.9 OR QW 410.10 are supplementary& non essential in same time.if the impact test isn't required, the supplementary are non essential.why botn of them are marked for the above variables?
how them used?
