[MW:4514] Hardness value of A543 Type-B, Class-1

Dear All,

  1. May I please know the hardness values of quenched and tempered steel of material A543, type-B, class-1.at the locations of parent metal, weld and HAZ
  2. What shall be the variation in hardness allowed for this material prior to and after post weld heat treatment. As per Secion 8 div's, variation (min to max.) in hardness of 40 is permitted, is it the same for this material also or any exceptions.
Please share your views, any feed back is appreciable.

Thanks and regards,

SA-216 states the following:  "Identical with ASTM Specification A216/A216M-07 except for the addition of 2.3 and editorial differences in 2.1 and 10.1."

2.3 references ASME Section IX
10.1 requires welders and welding procedures used for repair to be qualified in accordance with ASME Section IX

2.1 - no significant difference that I could quickly discern

All else is the same.

Subject: [MW:4502] ASTM A216 Vs ASME SA216 Difference

Dear friends,

I have received the customer order for pipeline valves with ASME SA216 Gr WCB.

My doubt is there any diff. between ASTM A216 Gr WCB Vs ASME SA216 Gr WCB.

Thank you,
