Dear peers, There we go again. How do you know a production soaking time in advance? It can be judged from the time taken by a PWHT when running a PQR only, right? It all depends on the set up you have. So, your yardstick is the time noted during PWHT, none else. For that matter, many production entities are to be noted during a PQR and accounted for later in their respective slots while working out the production calculations. So, in all probability, you will be allowed to have a production soaking time 80% of the PQR time - provided it produces a sound weld meeting all applicable requirements, of course. Please advise. I hope the interpretation of clause is that if the production welding soaking time is X hrs (Includes total soaking time involved in production like intermediate, dehydrogenation, final PWHT etc…) then the supporting PQR soaking time shall be atleast 80% to the X hrs. WPS can be written with this PQR to cover the Production time X hrs. Something jinxes.
