Hi,
I have got something to ask about Flare Stack design. We are using a self supported Flare Stack of height 8.7 meters. (5 meter Flare Stack and 3.7 meter Flare Tip). The Flare tip is connected to the Flare stack using flange and the Flare header is welded to the Stack inlet at the bottom. The sizes of the Flare stacks are 42'', 36'' and 24'' dia respectively. The Flare Tip is supplied by the Vendor.
Now regarding the Flare stack design, will it come under Structural Design or Piping Design? Do you think it will be acceptable if I calculate the Stack thickness as we do for the Pipe thickness calculation? Can I consider the Stack as a continuation of the Pipe?
Please advice me…..
Regards,
Sabir
