Re: [MW:25517] Weld Overlay Profile acceptance Criteria

Dear Ahmed,

You have not mentioned the required thickness of weld overlay.

Weld overlay on ID of Nozzle 3'' x 500 mm Long is very difficult to weld.

So to get better weld profile after weld overlay you need to do machine the nozzle ID to required thickness.

You can adopt UT for check the weld overlay thickness.

Dear All
Pls find attached herewith the photograph of Weld Overlay On ID of Nozzle 3'' x 500mm Long.
The attached Photo showing Irregular Profile which is Visually not Acceptable.

As per our argument with QC manager of one of the Co. asking me what is the difference between smooth and rough profile and why this is not acceptable.

As Per ASME Section VIII weld should be smooth and free from cores ripples, ridges.

Could you pls anybody reply for the same?
