[MW:33666] Painting on flange serrations

Good day Gents,

I would like to understand from the experts on the below.

1. Is painting on the flange serrations for both RF and FF flanges allowed. If yes which code/specifications mandates it and if no which code/specifications mandates it.

2. Is there a way to do preparation for painting on the serrations without damaging the serrations.
