Dear Friend

Measuring the LOF by DT can be done by Macro examination. But before going for macro, it will be better first identify the location of LOF by NDT method, UT is the best way to locate the exact location and size for LOF types defects.
You need to cut the cross section of the weld i.e. perpendicular to the welding axis direction.
