Re: [MW:16682] Required PQR Test Help

Cant I make WPS P1G1 to P1G1 and P1G2 to P1G2 with this PQR (for impact test req jobs.)??

I saw an old WPS that uses this strategy thats why I go with that.

Dear friend

Thickness                              10mm (WPS qual. 10-20mm)

Mat                                        Plate - SA516 Gr60 & SA516 Gr70 (this will qualify bot P1G1 and P1G2 mats right?)

you can not do this in your case as Impact test is required and G no is SEV.

Preheat                                  38°C Min(client spec)

Interpass Temp                       250°C Max

PWHT                                   620°C (120min, 100°C/hr)

PWHT should be determined as per cinstruction code.
If it is Div 1 follow UCS table for P no 1 material

Pos                                       3G (NON Essential Variable.)

Type                                      GTAW + SMAW

Tests:

2              Tensile Test

2              Face Bend Test

2              Root Bend Test

4              Side Bend Test (Do we need this?)

5?           Toughness Test (Charpy V-Noch at -46 C is enough?) at MDMT

Other DT should be as per QW-451.1

Hardness

Radiography

And the other thing is how big test coupon should I weld to get these tests.

Dear Experts,

Our company is going to make a new PQR and WPS but since I am new at ASME sec IX and B31.3, I would like to verify my tests before doing them.

So PQR specs are;
