So I checked QW403.8 and lets assume we have 10mm thk QPR;
If I dont need Impact test on that project the qual. range will be; 1.5mm to 20mm (QW451.1) ? (which is weird compared to EN)
and if I need impact test for a job it will only change min thk qual. 10mm to 20mm.
Sorry about asking again but I checked those standards before but I always wthought there is some detail I m missing.

The other thing is our client referred ASME IX, QW 403.6. and told me with 10mm PQR I can only qualify 10to15mm thickness, If you weld PQR plate on 10mm this qualifies min thk of plate welded to 2T ( in your case 10 to 20mm and not 15mm) r t I couldnt find max tickness standard at ASME is it 2 times of PQR if its above 6mm?
Or it depends on work? If they claim in scope of work that this project needs impact test then I use 10-20mm? and if not needed I ll use 5-20mm? Could you pls show me that standard?For Base metal thk qualification you have to refer ASME sec IX QW403.6 and QW403.8 to gether when Impact is asked ,If for non Impact WPS refer only qw403.8
