Subject: [MW:16656] Required PQR Test Help

Dear Experts,

Our company is going to make a new PQR and WPS but since I am new at ASME sec IX and B31.3, I would like to verify my tests before doing them.

So PQR specs are;

Thickness                              10mm (WPS qual. 10 - 15mm)   ( 10 to 20mm)

Mat                                        Plate - SA516 Gr60 & SA516 Gr70 (this will qualify bot P1G1 and P1G2 mats right?)

Preheat                                  38°C Min(client spec)

Interpass Temp                       250°C Max

PWHT                                   620°C (120min, 100°C/hr)

Pos                                       3G

Type                                      GTAW + SMAW

Tests:

2              Tensile Test

2              Face Bend Test

2              Root Bend Test

4              Side Bend Test (Do we need this?)    Not required.

5?           Toughness Test (Charpy V-Noch at -46 C is enough?)

Hardness  (hardness required for B31.3 not essential for Sec IX.)

Radiography

And the other thing is how big test coupon should I weld to get these tests.
