Dear Mr Ramasamy
Thank for your reply.
It is carbon steel forging ie - ASTM A105, ASTM 350 LF2 any part on valve made from forging. The weld repair is made due to poor machining or wrongly machine to built up as per original surface.
The concern is the stress relieve involve after the weld repair. Does it mandotary to perform? or has certain limit of thicknees or area so that PWHT should be carried out.
Regards
Ghafor Mohamad

Dear Mohamad
Please specify the ASTM specification, grade and component (such as valve body pipefittings etc..,) of the material for which weld repair is required so that we can suggest you.
With regards

Dear All
Appreciate if someone can explain the procedure and limitation for weld repair or built up by weld of forging material due to machining error.
Does stress relieved (PWHT) shall be carried out after complete weld if the depth is below 10mm?
Thanks
Ghafor Mohamad
