Re: [MW:13126] Inconel 625 to 70Cu-30Ni Alloy Dissimilar weld

Dear Mr. Shahzad,

Among other electrodes, you can also try Nickel Filler Metal 61 for
welding dissimilar alloys, but they may be more expensive electrodes. I
include some details of this below.

Nickel alloy electrodes:-
(Special metals welding electrodes, Ni+Co 93% min.)
Specifications:- AWS A5.14, ERNi-1 DIN 1736 SG-NiTi4
MIL-E-21562 Types MIL-RN61, MIL-EN61 Werkstoff Nr. 2.4155
ASME II, SFA-5.14, ERNi-1 UNS N02061
ASME IX, F-No. 41 ISO SNi2061
VdTÜV 1284.01; 2108.00 Europe NiTi3
BS 2901 (NA32)
Uses:- Nickel Filler Metal 61 is used for gas-tungsten-arc,
gas-metal-arc, and submerged-arc welding of Nickel 200 and 201.
Arc Flux is used with the submerged-arc process. The reaction of
titanium with carbon maintains a low level of free carbon and enables
the filler metal to be used with Nickel 201.
The weld metal has good corrosion resistance.

Dissimilar-welding applications for Nickel Filler Metal 61 include
joining Nickel 200 and 201 to
S.S., INCONEL alloys, INCOLOY alloys, copper-nickel alloys, and
MONEL alloys. It is aso used for joining copper-nickel alloys to
INCONEL and INCOLOY
alloys.

Dear Sir

I want to weld Inconel 625 (P No. 43) to 70Cu-30Ni alloy (P No.34)
which welding Rod/Electrode is the most suitable for GTAW/SMAW process.
