[MW:13227] Tandem MIG welding

Good morning group members ,

I would like to know your experience in Mig welding with TBi TD 20 Tandem torch of TBI industries . We are experiencing problems like burn through, excessive spatters, undercut in the welds. Weld is fillet of 10 mm. We simultaneously weld two fillets using robots. Job rotates in vertical plane and the robots are stationary . We are unable to stabilize the weld quality . Thickness of the at the joint is 10 mm and 14 mm in one weld joint and in another it is 10 mm and 12 mm.Welding gas is 90/10 argon / CO2.Power source is "power wave robotic 655 " of Lincoln Electric

We are using 1.6 mm solid wire in the leading torch and 1.2 mm in the following torch . Weld parameters are 400amps/28 volts and 360amps /27 volts respectively.weld wire is ER70S-6 in Marathon spools. Weld wire is ESSAB make .Material of the joint members is AISI 1020.

I look forward to your comments /suggestions.

Regards,

S C Balawat
