Hi all

My question is : where and why normalizing after head forming is required(according to code)?

Dear Sir,

It depends on the type of steel and the percentage deformation, combined.

DEAR EXPERTS PL. RESPOND:

AS PER  UCS79 OF ASME SEC. VIII DIV. HEAT TREATMENT IS REQUIRED AFTER PERCENTAGE ELONGATION OF FORMED COMPONENTS EXCEEDS SPECIFIED LIMIT.

WHETHER THE HEAT TREATMENT IS STRESS RELEVING OR WHETHER IT IS NORMALISING?
