RE: [MW:6181] Welder Qualification-Thickness range

1 thing need to be carefully considered during the preparation of welder pqr that "MAXIMUM TO BE WELDED" is limited with the WPS which you are qualified to. This means that even if you have welded a test coupon with a thikcness of more than 13 mm your qualification range in thickness will not be a MAXIMUM TO BE WELDED but will be a maximum figure shown on your WPS.

It is meaning that any thicknesses below 13 mm will be qualified to 2t for example if a welder made weld with 6mm then its thickness qualification will be 12mm
But any thicknesses equal to 13mm or above with minimum three layers, the qualification will be maximum to be welded for example if a welder made weld with thickness of 13mm then its qualification will be unlimited but the weld must be with minimum three layers
