Re: [MW:4444] Distance between welds

Hi Larry,,

ASME B31.3 does not exist in any consideration of the distance between two welds.
This consideration must be given by each designer.
In the last project I was involved in the distance between welds was at least twice the thickness of the pipe, but this was indicated on the customer's specifications.

Kind regards

Gustavo Mendoza.
Welding Inspector.

Hi there,

Can anyone advice me the minimum distance between butt welds? We are welding CUNI 90/10 tube on B31.3 code.

What section of the Code it is written?

I can probably find out where, but I'm new to thisQA/QC thing and will probably take me a while, I just need some suggestions atthe moment.

Thanks,

Larry Zarate
