Re: [MW:16751] Highest hardness acceptable limit for ss 347 H in as welded condition

Dear sir,
We are checking the hardness value for the weld metal with reference the parent metal. The Hardness value of the parent metal is the reference value of the weld metal hardness .The hardness value of the weld metal is equal or slightly more the the hardness value of the parent metal is acceptable.Say 320HV is max in parent metel then 320-330 HV  can accept in weld metal.
In your cause,The impact value is ok. Then have to check the once again the hardness value after  do the mirror polish surface.
Best regards
Bj

Dear Experts,
Someone else can tell me that what is the high hardness acceptable value for the ss 347 H in as welded condition. Actually we did one pqr with this material using ER 16.8.2/E 16.8.2 metrode welding consumable , pipe dia is 20"X 23.8mm in 6G position. All tests are pass like impact, bend, tensile, macro , micro structure. Max. Hardness Is 320 Hv10.
Can anyone can define the max value. Service is not sour.however operating temp is high from 500 to 700 deg celcius.
