[MW:15756] Material selection for high pressure valves.

Hi All,

   Pls find below table of Valve parts and material data, Pls help me to get the right material  and appreciate, if you can describe the difference of thes 2 materials.

 

Details.

Valve - 7500 PSI BW Gate.

Fluid - Water / oil based mud.

Design Press - 7500 PSI.

Design Temp - 150 F.

 

Description.

 

                                    Option 1.                                                Option 2.

 

1, Body                     - ASTM A487 Gr 4 Class D.                     ZG30CrMo(4130)Casting.

2, Gate                     - 17-4 PH SS.                                            4130 + Nitriding.

3, Body wear ring     - AISI 4140 w/QPQ nitride coating.           4130.

4, Seat and Stem     - 410 SS.                                                   4130 + Nitriding.

5, Housing                - AISI C 1029.                                           4130.

 

 

How can I have more knowledge in material selection, especially valves. Pls provide me the info of Stes or Links.
