Dear Sirs ,

We have a project with both shell and Reinforcement Pad materials SA516-70, 10 mm Thk ( P No.1 ) and only the Nozzle is SA335-P22, 4" Sch 120 ,

11.1 mm ( P No.5A ) Thk.

To avoid PWHT for this case as per ASME Sec VIII Div I UCS 56-4 Table,

can we do buttering with ERNiCr-3 on P No.5A bevel prep. and butt weld

with same filler for this dissimilar joint to avoid PWHT after making new

PQR with buttering ?

ASME AI says, PWHT required after making buttering on P No. 5A bevel

Prep.

Please confirm.
