Re: [MW:31600] Please check

Dear Mr. Rajeev,
If your query is related to Pressure vessel then refer UW-9 (d) of ASME VIII DIV 1, which states that..
"Except when the longitudinal joints are radiographed 4 in. (100 mm) each side of each circumferential welded intersection, vessels made up of two or more
courses shall have the centers of the welded longitudinal joints of adjacent courses staggered or separated by a distance of at least five times the thickness of the thicker plate.

One advice: Please put a proper subject to your email if you want to get it noticed by a large number of group members.

Special thanks to Mr. Vijay Konathala for sharing the thumb rules of different codes / standards for quick reference.

You might picture in your mind how 'bricks' are laid out or 'concrete blocks'. The Horizontal seams are continuous, however; the 'verticals' are 'offset'. This
is done to prevent a 'crack' starting in one vertical joint from propagating into the next vertical joint. If all the verticals were in one continuous joint, the crack
could propagate from the 1st, into the 2nd, into the 3rd. etc. I hope this helps.

This means if your shell is in sections, then the longitudinal weldings in all the sections should not be in the same line.
